Senior Data and Platform Assurance Analyst

Role overview

What you'll do

• Conduct risk-based IT control reviews across data and platform environments, identify control gaps, reduce risk exposure, and assess compliance with policies, regulations, and standards.
• Document and communicate findings, risks, and non-compliance; partner with stakeholders to develop, implement, and track remediation plans.
• Guide data, project, and operational teams on control design, implementation, effectiveness, data risks, and governance.
• Support internal and external audit engagements by coordinating responses, answering queries, providing evidence, and following actions through to completion.
• Partner across teams to improve assurance practices, compliance culture, risk management, and control effectiveness.
• Carry out weekly control reviews and quarterly Control Risk Self-Assessment sign-off, escalating issues and ensuring timely resolution.
• Maintain records of assurance activities, risk assessments, review outcomes, compliance measures, and control evidence.
• Conduct peer reviews and improve assurance methods, processes, and practices.

What you'll bring

• Demonstrable IT audit and assurance experience, including design and testing of IT controls.
• Strong understanding of governance frameworks and regulatory requirements, including SOX and the SAO regime.
• ACA, CISA, or an equivalent controls-focused qualification is highly desirable.
• Ability to identify risks and develop control frameworks and mitigation strategies in complex organizations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, judgement, influencing, negotiation, and communication skills; able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to improve assurance and control practices.
• Attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, adapt, and work under pressure.
• Proactive continuous-improvement mindset and interest in assurance best practices, regulatory developments, and industry trends.
• Exposure to GCP auditing, data governance, or data analytics is advantageous.
