Finance Analyst/Senior Finance Analyst

Role overview

Accounting and close

• Own month-end, quarter-end and year-end close and sign off results before Group submission.
• Review journals, accruals, provisions and complex judgments for compliance with SOX, IFRS and group policy.
• Explain P&L and balance-sheet movements to finance stakeholders.
• Approve reconciliations, resolve aged items, and oversee intercompany matching, settlement and disputes.

Reporting, controls and team

• Act as the main external-audit contact for assigned areas.
• Ensure key controls operate effectively and remediate deficiencies.
• Review and support Senior Assistant Analysts and the offshore RTR team; set standards for quality and documentation.
• Coach colleagues through knowledge sharing, training and onboarding.

Improvement and transformation

• Lead close improvements such as journal automation and reconciliation standardisation.
• Improve use of SAP, Power Automate and AI.
• Represent A2R in finance transformation and system or organisational change projects, assessing accounting and controls impacts.
• Track and report process KPIs, including timeliness, accuracy and aged items.

What you will bring

• Qualified accountant: CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
• Strong record-to-report experience in a large, multi-entity organisation, including review responsibility.
• Sound IFRS and financial-controls knowledge.
• Advanced Excel and strong ERP experience; SAP is preferred.
• Clear communication, constructive challenge, and ability to manage competing deadlines.

Working arrangements

• Hybrid working with an expectation of two days per week in the office.
• Office base is Livingston, West Lothian.
