Manage and forecast costs across construction projects.
The role requires hands-on cost control experience in a large construction or EPC company.
Key responsibilities
- Set up project cost breakdown structures and budgets in SAP or a similar project cost system.
- Review scope and requirements to prepare estimates to complete; track actual costs, commitments, and budget changes.
- Compare budgeted, actual, and forecast costs; identify overruns and explain their causes.
- Update cost forecasts, project cash flows, and cost reports.
- Analyze percentage of completion, progress, and financial performance with project and finance teams.
- Review budget revisions, reconcile cost figures with Finance, and coordinate with execution, planning, resources, and supply chain teams.
- Flag cost risks, recommend actions to protect profitability, and support cost-saving initiatives without affecting delivery.
- Prepare reports and dashboards for project teams and management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- 5–7 years of cost control experience in a large construction or EPC company.
- Hands-on experience setting up budgets, tracking costs, and preparing forecasts and financial reports.
- Understanding of estimates to complete, cash flow forecasting, percentage of completion, and project cost performance.
- Experience with SAP PS/CO or a similar project cost management system; strong Excel skills.
- Ability to explain cost variances clearly and collaborate with project teams and Finance.
Preferred skills and credentials
- Primavera and Power BI experience is an advantage.
- CCP or PMP certification and Earned Value Management (EVM) experience are preferred.
