FOREMAN, MECHANICAL

Role purpose

Equipment maintenance and oversight

• Direct heavy equipment operations, servicing, and repair.
• Plan and supervise the activities of employees engaged in operating and repairing heavy equipment.
• Maintain records of equipment downtime, mechanical malfunctions, and necessary repairs; report breakdown causes and equipment concerns to management.
• Prepare operating cost reports for equipment models.
• Coordinate maintenance plans for equipment and vehicles, including quarterly requirements for oils, grease, filters, wear parts, and spare parts.
• Check that operators use equipment correctly and coordinate maintenance cards with document controllers and senior mechanical technicians.
• Assist with interviewing, training, and evaluating operators and team members.

Operational accountability

• Plan, follow up, and execute annual or development plans; monitor performance and take corrective action.
• Provide periodic progress reports and control budgets and expenses for cost efficiency.
• Anticipate problems, make timely decisions, and deliver results to required quality, cost, and schedule.
• Develop work structures, written procedures, policies, systems, and automation opportunities; use relevant IT solutions.

• Ensure a safe, secure, and legally compliant work environment.
• Follow health, safety, environmental, and quality management procedures.
• Promote quality, adapt to new techniques and technologies, and support effective use of automated systems.

Qualifications and experience

• High school degree in Automotive Engineering & Technology.
• At least 15 years of work experience.
• Technical and functional competencies include quality control, safety, troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, multitasking, physical fitness, equipment maintenance, quick learning, hand/power tool proficiency, and adaptability.
