Provide in-depth control systems engineering support for DCS, ESD, FGS, and PLC activities supporting Operations Expansion and Start-Up objectives.
Maintain control-system adequacy, security, performance, safety, reliability, availability, and operational efficiency.
Key accountabilities
- Ensure engineering activities comply with regulatory requirements, project specifications, approved variations, and company procedures; resolve issues and escalate when needed.
- Contribute to HAZOP and SIL workshops, design reviews, risk assessments, and reviews of engineering documents.
- Support functional safety management of ESD systems, operation manuals, brownfield tie-in documents, and interface agreements.
- Support factory acceptance testing, offshore control-system startup and commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance-strategy development.
- Provide expertise to engineers on complex assignments and support multidisciplinary tasks.
- Administer control systems, including user access control, advisories, OEM technical cases, and OEM service contracts.
- Document best practices, implement performance improvements, and review and validate control-system procedures.
- Develop plans and work schedules against KPIs and supervise contractors, consultants, and service providers.
- Coordinate control-system management of change, feasibility studies, and projects, meeting quality milestones and applicable standards.
- Contribute to integrity and reliability programs, including root cause failure analysis and preventive-maintenance equipment strategies.
- Contribute to HAZOP and SIL studies, assess brownfield impacts from greenfield projects, and identify single-point failures.
- Conduct training, support competency development, review high-risk technical matters, and support operations-readiness deliverables and handover.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Six years of technical engineering experience in an oil and gas environment.
- Experience with Foxboro, Emerson, Honeywell, Triconex, CCC, PLCs, and applications such as AMS, APC, and PI systems.
- Knowledge and application of international standards including IEC, ANSI/ISA, and API RP.
- Experience in startup and commissioning of oil and gas plants involving compressors, gas turbines, and fired heaters or boilers.
- Fluent English with demonstrated verbal and written skills.
- Computer literate and competent with engineering software tools.
