A UAE bank seeks a hands-on Senior Cloud Security Engineer to design and implement security controls across cloud infrastructure, applications, and CI/CD pipelines.
The role is a 6-month contract based in Dubai, UAE.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement security controls and guardrails across Azure and/or AWS environments, including UAE-hosted cloud regions.
- Own cloud identity and access management, including least-privilege access, privileged access management, MFA, and conditional access.
- Embed DevSecOps practices in CI/CD pipelines, including IaC scanning, secrets management, and secure code checks.
- Secure container and Kubernetes platforms, including AKS, EKS, or OpenShift.
- Manage encryption and key management using Azure Key Vault, AWS KMS, or HSM for sensitive customer and payments data.
- Run cloud security posture and vulnerability management, tracking findings through closure.
- Integrate cloud logs with the bank’s SIEM/SOC and support cloud-related incident response.
- Ensure controls meet CBUAE regulations, UAE data residency requirements, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS, and support audits.
- Perform security reviews and threat modelling for cloud projects and third-party or SaaS onboarding.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in IT or information security, including 4+ years of hands-on cloud security or DevSecOps experience.
- Strong hands-on experience securing Azure or AWS environments; experience with both is ideal.
- Practical DevSecOps experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Experience with cloud security tooling such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Prisma Cloud, or Wiz, and SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or QRadar.
- Experience in banking or financial services, with exposure to regulatory audits and compliance teams.
- UAE or GCC banking experience is a strong plus.
