Six-month, project-based Data Governance Manager engagement with a major UAE bank.
The role establishes and embeds governance to improve data quality, ownership, and regulatory compliance.
Location and schedule
- Dubai; onsite.
- ASAP start and six-month fixed-term contract.
Responsibilities
- Design and embed governance policies, standards, and operating model.
- Define ownership and stewardship roles and onboard data owners and stewards.
- Maintain the business glossary, data catalogue, and data lineage.
- Set quality rules, KPIs, and monitoring; drive issue remediation.
- Align governance with CBUAE guidelines and BCBS 239.
- Run governance forums, report to senior stakeholders, and hand over a sustainable model.
Requirements
- Proven contractor or interim consultant track record delivering time-bound projects.
- At least 8 years in data management or governance; banking or financial services experience is described as ideal.
- End-to-end framework setup or maturation experience and strong DAMA-DMBOK knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with Collibra, Informatica Axon/EDC, Alation, or Microsoft Purview.
- Understanding of banking regulatory data requirements and confidence engaging senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Available to start at short notice.
Preferred qualifications
- CDMP certification, governance delivery alongside data platform migration or transformation, GCC banking experience, and Arabic are preferred.
