Role overview
Senior Civil Site Engineer responsible for remaining structural works, spatial alignment, waterproofing, and premium internal and external finishes on an international luxury hospitality project in Somalia.
Ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and international luxury construction standards.
Structural execution and verification
- Oversee concrete reinforcement, formwork strikes, masonry alignments, and architectural structural steel integration.
- Inspect site sectors and log, tag, and correct honeycombing, spatial variance, or deflection before work advances.
Premium finishes and fit-out
- Enforce millimeter-level wall verticality, floor leveling, right-angle plastering, and seamless joints for large-format tiles and natural marble.
- Supervise drywall framing and layered configurations for finished surfaces and integrated concealed lighting.
Acoustics and waterproofing
- Monitor guestroom separation walls, acoustic insulation specifications, and edge sealing.
- Enforce tested, multi-stage waterproofing in guestroom bathrooms, commercial kitchens, basements, and exposed flat roofs.
Logistics and documentation
- Manage material storage, consumption batching, waste reduction, and secure distribution of imported finishes.
- Prepare daily engineering journals, site photographs, RFIs, and as-built redlines.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from a recognized, accredited university.
- At least 7 years of active civil site engineering experience; the posting also specifies 7–10+ years.
- Experience delivering luxury commercial interiors, 5-star fit-outs, or premium residential developments.
- Ability to manage large site crews and subcontractors; exceptional finish-quality focus and zero tolerance for defects.
Work location and travel
- Work location is in person; the role requires willingness to travel 100%.
