Senior Civil Engineer – Structural & Architectural

Role overview

Engineering and site duties

• Lead and coordinate structural and architectural engineering activities through the project lifecycle.
• Review drawings, specifications, details, and technical documents; conduct site inspections and monitor workmanship, quality, and progress.
• Ensure construction complies with approved drawings, specifications, Qatar regulations, and relevant international standards.
• Identify and resolve technical issues on site, and coordinate with architects, consultants, MEP engineers, contractors, clients, and site teams.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and other technical submissions.
• Review foundations, columns, beams, slabs, reinforced concrete, and steel structures.
• Review architectural layouts, elevations, sections, finishes, doors, windows, waterproofing, and construction details.
• Coordinate structural and architectural elements to identify clashes and constructability issues; provide technical guidance and design clarifications.
• Participate in technical, coordination, progress, and site meetings; prepare inspection reports, technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
• Support project management in construction quality, schedule, and compliance; resolve client and consultant comments and close technical issues.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is required.
• At least eight years of relevant professional experience, including civil/structural engineering and structural/architectural works or coordination, is required.
• Strong hands-on site and construction experience is essential.
• Experience in high-end residential villas, residential or commercial buildings, and/or high-rise projects is highly preferred.

Technical qualifications

• Strong knowledge of structural systems, construction methods, architectural detailing, building materials, and construction practices is required.
• Ability to read, interpret, review, and coordinate structural and architectural drawings is required.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and technical documentation is required.
• AutoCAD proficiency is required; Revit knowledge is preferred.
• Knowledge of relevant structural analysis or design software is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Qatar construction regulations and international engineering codes and standards is required.

Certification and language

• UPDA/MMUP certification is mandatory; Grade A is highly preferred.
• Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
• A valid Qatar ID is required; a valid Qatar driving license is preferred.
