Role Overview
The role supports the Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance, which plans, designs and constructs approximately 320 km of strategic clean-water pipelines and associated infrastructure.
The Alliance is also responsible for a further 260 km of future strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure.
The Senior Buyer - Ecosystem Manager develops procurement schedules and helps ensure products and services are delivered to site on time.

Role and programme
The role supports the Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance, which plans, designs and constructs approximately 320 km of strategic clean-water pipelines and associated infrastructure.
The Alliance is also responsible for a further 260 km of future strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure.
The Senior Buyer - Ecosystem Manager develops procurement schedules and helps ensure products and services are delivered to site on time.
Procurement and supplier management
- Lead sourcing events and appoint suppliers using methods appropriate to the spend or requirement; deliver value for money and lead commercial negotiations.
- Build ecosystem partner relationships through mini competitions, allocation methodologies or new procurement processes.
- Ensure relevant purchases comply with DWI requirements where applicable, and follow SPA procurement policy and processes.
- Maintain auditable procurement systems and reporting; advise the business, monitor spend trends and manage sustainable procurement risks.
- Support Purchase to Pay, compliant requisitions and SAP purchase orders, partner reviews, supply-chain capacity coordination, payment queries and one-off purchases.
Essential knowledge and skills
- Operational procurement capability; excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills; influencing skills and commercial acumen.
- Ability to design commercial models and pricing, integrate suppliers, develop supplier capability and work to tight deliverables.
- A can-do attitude and attention to detail.
Desirable experience and qualifications
- Supplier relationship definition, package procurement or category strategy experience is desirable.
- Procurement experience in water, infrastructure or construction is desirable.
- CIPS Professional standard and membership or equivalent, and degree-level education, are listed as desirable.
Work arrangement
- Flexible hybrid work from the Peterborough office, site offices and home.
