Job purpose
Perform business analysis and requirements gathering with stakeholders across IT, Risk, Compliance, Customer Management, Finance, Operations, and business departments.
Assess a legacy back-office solution across retail brokerage, institutional brokerage, market making or liquidity providing, and asset management against future strategy, products, and roadmap.
Key result areas
- Gather and analyze requirements and features of current back-office systems across multiple business lines.
- Identify gaps between current systems and future strategy, products, and roadmap.
- Recommend enhancements to system features, architecture, hardware, and processes, especially opportunities for automation.
- Maintain business requirement documentation for system features, processes, configurations, and enhancements.
- Evaluate data structures and recommend improvements aligned with data governance.
- Coordinate system specifications with business units, IT, and vendors.
- Stay informed about brokerage back-office systems, automation, data reconciliation, regulatory compliance, system integration, and industry best practices.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, or Economics.
- At least eight years in financial services focused on brokerage, investment banking, or capital-markets back-office systems, or in brokerage software-house implementation as a Business Analyst or System Analyst.
- Experience gathering business or functional requirements, developing UAT cases, supporting execution across front-, middle-, and back-office systems, and developing epics and stories.
- Extensive experience in brokerage, trading, or investment banking back-office work supporting electronic trading systems is mandatory.
- Experience at a brokerage firm or software house developing trading back-office systems is preferred.
Technical skills
- Experience with JIRA (epics and stories), SharePoint, SQL queries, and a BPM tool such as Bizagi or MS Visio.
- Proficiency in data analysis.
- Understanding of software implementation and systems design, including UX.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; investigative and troubleshooting capability.
