Role Summary

The Senior Analyst – Strategic Planning & Performance Management will support the development, monitoring, and execution of corporate and operational performance plans within the oil and gas sector.

The role will be responsible for analyzing business performance, tracking strategic initiatives, preparing management reports, supporting planning cycles, and ensuring alignment between departmental objectives and wider organizational strategy.

The position requires a strong background in planning, performance monitoring, project controls, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a large, complex, asset-intensive organization, with experience in oil and gas, EPC, engineering, or corporate planning environments.

Strategic Planning Support

  • Support the preparation and review of annual strategic plans, business plans, departmental objectives, and performance roadmaps.
  • Assist in translating corporate strategy into measurable initiatives, targets, milestones, and departmental action plans.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to gather inputs for planning cycles, strategy updates, performance reviews, and management reporting.
  • Support the alignment of business unit objectives with overall organizational priorities.

Performance Management & Monitoring

  • Monitor key performance indicators, strategic initiatives, operational milestones, and departmental performance against approved targets.
  • Prepare periodic performance dashboards, scorecards, progress reports, variance analyses, and executive summaries.
  • Identify performance gaps, delays, risks, and improvement areas, and coordinate with concerned teams for corrective actions.
  • Track progress of business plans, initiatives, projects, and operational commitments to ensure timely delivery.

Reporting & Management Presentations

  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely reports for senior management, leadership meetings, committees, and internal reviews.
  • Develop presentations, briefing notes, performance packs, and analytical reports to support decision-making.
  • Convert complex data into meaningful insights, trends, and recommendations.
  • Maintain structured records of performance updates, planning assumptions, action items, and management decisions.

Business Analysis & Data Insights

  • Analyze operational, financial, and project-related data to support planning and performance evaluation.
  • Conduct variance analysis against targets, budgets, schedules, and strategic objectives.
  • Support benchmarking, trend analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning where required.
  • Provide analytical support for business improvement initiatives and strategic decision-making.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate with departments such as operations, engineering, finance, projects, commercial, strategy, and corporate performance teams.
  • Follow up with business units for data submissions, progress updates, action plans, and performance justifications.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness of information received from multiple stakeholders.
  • Build strong working relationships across functions to support smooth planning and reporting cycles.

Project Planning & Controls Support

  • Use planning and project controls experience to monitor timelines, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Support project performance tracking, schedule analysis, progress monitoring, and EPC-related reporting where relevant.
  • Assist in identifying delays, bottlenecks, resource constraints, and project execution risks.
  • Apply practical planning knowledge from engineering and oil and gas environments to strengthen performance reviews.

Process Improvement

  • Support improvements in planning, reporting, KPI tracking, performance monitoring, and governance processes.
  • Recommend better reporting templates, dashboards, tracking tools, and performance review mechanisms.
  • Contribute to standardization of planning and performance management practices across teams.
  • Promote data accuracy, timely reporting, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Mechanical Engineering background would be an advantage.
  • Professional certifications or training in Corporate Strategy, Performance Management, Project Management, Finance for Non-Financial Professionals, or Business Writing would be beneficial.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, performance management, project planning, project controls, business analysis, or corporate reporting.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in oil and gas, EPC, energy, engineering, construction, or large industrial organizations.
  • Experience in planning and performance monitoring within ADNOC-type or large corporate environments would be highly relevant.
  • Hands-on experience with project planning tools such as Primavera P6.
  • Strong exposure to EPC project environments, performance tracking, schedule monitoring, and management reporting.
