Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled
Financial Modeler
with strong experience in the
Power & Energy sector
to support investment evaluation, project financing, and strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex financial models related to energy projects, including power generation (renewable and conventional), transmission, and infrastructure assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, build, and maintain
- robust financial models
- for power and energy projects (e.g., solar, wind, thermal, gas, infrastructure).
- Perform
- project feasibility analysis
- , including IRR, NPV, payback period, and sensitivity analysis.
- Support
- project financing activities
- , including debt structuring, lender presentations, and financial close processes.
- Analyze
- tariff structures, PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements), and regulatory frameworks
- .
- Conduct
- scenario analysis and stress testing
- based on variables such as fuel costs, tariffs, CAPEX, and OPEX.
- Collaborate with technical, commercial, and legal teams to incorporate project assumptions into financial models.
- Prepare
- investment memoranda, presentations, and reports
- for internal stakeholders and investors.
- Monitor actual performance vs forecasts and update models accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with
- IFRS and financial reporting standards
- where applicable.
- Support
- M&A transactions, due diligence, and valuation exercises
- within the energy sector.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in
Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering
- (MBA/CA/CFA preferred).
- **3–7+ years of experience**
- in financial modeling, preferably within the
Power & Energy sector
- .
- Strong experience in
- project finance models
- for energy projects.
- Advanced proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
- (including macros/VBA is a plus).
- Solid understanding of:
- Power generation economics
- Renewable energy models (solar, wind, etc.)
- Energy tariffs and regulatory environments
- Project finance structures

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle complex datasets and assumptions
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
Experience
working with:
• Independent Power Producers (IPPs)
- Utilities or energy developers
- Infrastructure funds or investment firms
- Exposure to
- Middle East / GCC energy markets
(preferred)
- Knowledge of tools such as
- Power BI, Python, or financial modeling certifications (e.g., FMVA)
- is a plus
