Senior Accountant in the finance team, based in Al Quoz, Dubai.
Oversees daily accounting operations, financial reporting, project financial activities, and compliance with UAE financial and tax requirements.
The role focuses on contracting operations, project costing, cash flow management, and financial controls.
Accounting and reporting responsibilities
- Manage payables and receivables, invoice processing, payments, collections, reconciliations, and ageing reports.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and periodic financial statements; support budgets, forecasts, cash flow planning, and variance analysis.
- Maintain the general ledger and oversee month-end and year-end closing.
- Manage project accounting, monitor costs and profitability, review billing and retention, and support revenue recognition.
- Coordinate audits, maintain financial controls, guide junior staff, improve processes, and support ERP and accounting systems.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 10–13 years of overall accounting experience, including 4–5 years in a Senior Accountant position.
- Experience in a UAE contracting, construction, aluminium and façade, or interior fit-out company.
- Practical experience with payables, receivables, general ledger, reporting, project accounting, job costing, progress billing, retention, and profitability analysis.
- Knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and applicable accounting and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in ERP or accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, Sage, or similar.
Skills and preferred qualifications
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills; accounting principles and financial controls.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and reporting deadlines; strong communication and coordination; attention to detail.
- ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification is an advantage.
