Senior Accountant

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month- and year-end closing.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Prepare cash-flow reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, IFRS, and company financial policies; prepare VAT returns and support Corporate Tax requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide documentation.
• Review bank reconciliations, supplier and customer accounts, accruals, provisions, and fixed assets.
• Monitor project costs, expenses, revenue recognition, and profitability.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation in SAP.
• Support management with financial analysis and decision-making reports; strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience; UAE experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and IFRS.
• Experience with month- and year-end closing and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of SAP ERP and Microsoft Excel.
• Construction, engineering, elevator/escalator, or project-based company experience is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and organizational skills.
