Role overview

Main responsibilities

• Carry out gatehouse and reception access control, welcome and direct visitors, identify threats and escalate them.
• Conduct colleague and contractor searches when required under client policy.
• Patrol inside and outside the site to deter crime.
• Review CCTV with the client during stock-loss investigations and help identify risks.
• Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable.
• Use tablets or phones for daily planning and digital incident reporting; provide detailed, legible incident reports.
• Follow company health and safety, equal opportunities and other policies and procedures.

Required experience and qualifications

• A current SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence is required to apply.
• Applicants must provide a full five-year checkable work or back-to-school history.
• Confident communication, detailed reporting, patience with customers and professional conflict handling are needed.
• Previous retail security experience is advantageous but not essential; full training is provided.

Hours and shifts

• Available schedules include 48-hour and 60-hour patterns.
• One 48-hour pattern is four days on and four days off, rotating days and nights.
• A 60-hour pattern alternates two days and three nights followed by three days off, then three days and two nights followed by two days off.
• Another 60-hour pattern is nights only, with alternating five-on/two-off and five-on/three-off weeks.

Pay

• Hourly rate is £13.00.
