ASEL is hiring a Relief Officer for retail security duties in Derby.
The role provides visible deterrence, incident response, reporting and collaboration with local authorities.
Main responsibilities
- Perform access control, gatehouse and reception duties, including welcoming and directing visitors and escalating security threats.
- Conduct colleague and contractor searches when required under client policy.
- Carry out internal and external site patrols to deter criminal activity.
- Review CCTV with the client during stock-loss investigations.
- Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable.
- Use tablets and phones for daily activity planning and digital incident reporting.
- Prepare detailed and legible incident reports.
- Follow company health and safety, equal opportunities and other applicable policies.
Required experience and qualifications
- A current SIA Guarding or SIA Door Supervisor licence is required.
- Applicants must provide a full five-year checkable work or back-to-school history.
- Previous retail security experience is advantageous but not essential because full training is provided.
- Candidates should communicate confidently, provide detailed accounts of criminal activity and handle conflict professionally.
Location and work pattern
- The role is based in Derby and requires working in store.
- Hours and shift patterns are varied, and flexibility is required.
Compensation
- The hourly rate is £12.71.
