SEA FREIGHT OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE

Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sea freight operations for import, export, and cross-trade shipments
• Coordinate with shipping lines, freight agents, transport providers, customs brokers, and clients
• Prepare and review shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, manifests, invoices, and customs-related documents
• Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, trade requirements, and customs procedures
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve operational issues or delays
• Coordinate customs clearance processes and ensure timely cargo delivery
• Communicate shipment updates and operational information to clients and stakeholders
• Negotiate and coordinate freight bookings, schedules, and shipping arrangements
• Monitor operational costs and support profitability objectives
• Maintain accurate shipment records and operational reports
• Support and supervise operational team members when required
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and service standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field
• Minimum **5 years of experience in sea freight operations**
• Minimum **2 years of experience in a supervisory, team lead, or managerial capacity**
• Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, Incoterms, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and trade compliance
• Experience handling import, export, and cross-trade shipments
• Proficiency in logistics software, freight management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet operational deadlines
