Role summary

Construction and technical delivery

• Supervise road and highway construction for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Review road design drawings, specifications, method statements, material submittals, and other technical documents.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, utility authorities, and stakeholders to resolve technical and site issues.
• Inspect earthworks, subgrade, sub-base, road base, asphalt, kerbs, pavements, drainage, and associated infrastructure.
• Monitor progress against approved schedules and quality requirements; verify quantities and completed works for reporting and payment certification.
• Review material testing, laboratory results, field tests, and quality control records; identify defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai/UAE road standards, safety requirements, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare site inspection, progress, technical, and project reports; participate in site meetings and progress reviews.
• Assist with contractor claims, variations, and requests for information; monitor traffic management and temporary road arrangements.
• Coordinate road works with drainage, utilities, street lighting, landscaping, and other infrastructure; support testing, commissioning, snagging, and handover.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 2 years of relevant highway or road engineering experience and at least 1 year of professional experience in Dubai.
• Good knowledge of road construction, pavement works, earthworks, drainage, and associated infrastructure.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, method statements, inspection procedures, and quality control requirements.
• Knowledge of Dubai/UAE road and infrastructure standards and authority requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; relevant engineering or project management software knowledge is an advantage.
• Good communication, coordination, problem-solving, and reporting skills.

Preferred experience

• Experience on Dubai road construction, rehabilitation, widening, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, government or utility authorities, and experience in inspection, quality control, quantity verification, and documentation are preferred.
• Knowledge of asphalt paving, pavement materials, road markings, traffic management, and road safety works is preferred.

Workplace

• The role includes regular site inspections and monitoring of construction activities.
