Role overview
The Site Engineer - Electrical oversees installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems on construction sites.
Electrical work must follow project plans, specifications, and local regulations.
Site supervision and quality
- Supervise site electrical works and contractors, coordinate daily activity, and support schedule compliance.
- Check installations against designs, local codes, safety requirements, voltage, load balancing, and equipment specifications.
- Inspect, test, and commission lighting, power, wiring, and other electrical systems; troubleshoot faults and prepare equipment for handover.
Coordination and site records
- Coordinate with project managers and engineering, mechanical, civil, and architectural teams, and attend site meetings.
- Maintain work, materials, issue, progress, daily-log, and design-deviation records and reports.
Safety and resources
- Apply safety procedures, conduct risk assessments, and mitigate hazards involving electrical work, tools, and equipment.
- Manage procurement, delivery, compliance, tracking, storage, and handling of electrical materials.
Experience and education
- At least three years of experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of electrical installations, site supervision, electrical codes, and safety standards, including NEC, IEC, and OSHA.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, execute installations, and coordinate with contractors and project teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
