Role overview

The Research Assistant produces source-based research and briefings used by partners in client and counterparty discussions.

The work supports commercial engagements involving market entry, regional expansion, transactions and joint ventures.

The firm keeps a short list of active engagements so partners remain close to client decisions and research.

What you will do

  • Gather and verify information on companies, family groups and counterparties using filings, registries, public statements and press coverage.
  • Map ownership and decision-making relationships and note where information remains unclear.
  • Track regional regulatory developments and maintain a record of changes and dates.
  • Prepare partner-meeting briefings with background, key facts, open questions and a concise assessment.
  • Draft and edit research notes so reasoning is clear and figures trace back to sources.
  • Maintain organized internal files so colleagues can continue research without starting over.

What we are looking for

  • Basic research skills from university work, an internship, a research project or a job requiring careful investigation.
  • Clear written English; comfort with incomplete information; a practical approach to finding useful answers.
  • Care with numbers and sources, reliability on deadlines and discretion with material kept inside the firm.

Helpful background

  • An interest in finance, economics, law or politics is helpful but not required.
  • Arabic or another language used in the region is helpful but not required.
  • Exposure to real estate, energy, logistics or financial services is helpful but not required.
  • Previous research or analysis work, including student projects and part-time roles, is helpful but not required.
  • Comfort with spreadsheets and close document reading is helpful but not required.

Work arrangement

  • This is a permanent, full-time role worked remotely from Dubai.

Team and development

The Research Assistant works directly with partners and receives direct feedback on work.

The firm offers exposure to live commercial engagements, sovereign capital, family ownership and regulation.

The role offers a wide range of subjects and scope to take on more responsibility as judgment develops.

The stated development goal is to be able to run a briefing independently after a year.
