Role overview

The Regulatory Research Analyst supports the front end of Dune Strategy's commercial advisory work by researching rules, tracking regulatory pathways and preparing notes used by partners.

What you will do

  • Research regional regulatory frameworks, licensing requirements and policy positions, and keep the picture current.
  • Map counterparties, ownership, decision-makers, potential blockers and family or state-linked interests.
  • Prepare concise briefings for partner-led meetings.
  • Track regulatory pathways over weeks or months and flag when decision points move.
  • Write notes setting out the position, reasoning and open questions.
  • Check figures and filings before client materials are shared.

What the firm is looking for

  • Clear thinking and writing that holds up to partner and client review.
  • Pragmatism when working with incomplete material and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Careful source discipline and the ability to show where facts came from.
  • Judgment about which findings matter to the commercial decision.

Helpful background

  • Interest in finance, economics or politics is useful but not required.
  • Arabic, French or another language used with regional counterparties is useful but not required.
  • Exposure to regulated sectors such as financial services, energy, healthcare, real estate or telecoms is useful but not required.
  • Prior research in consulting, advisory, banking, law or public service is useful but not required.
  • Practice interpreting legal or regulatory text is useful but not required.

Employment arrangement

  • The description states this is a permanent, full-time role.

Workplace

  • The role is described as hybrid in Dubai.

Role environment

  • The analyst works directly with partners and across several sectors and structures.
  • Research is intended to support live commercial decisions and be read and used by the team.

Success in the role

Success includes producing self-contained briefings that explain positions, reasoning and open risks, recognizing commercial decision points, building counterparty relationships and earning trust in research sources.
