Role overview

Zeriq Cyber Security seeks a motivated Junior Penetration Testing Analyst for its cybersecurity team.

The analyst helps assess applications, networks, and digital systems, identify vulnerabilities, and document findings under experienced professionals.

The opportunity welcomes recent graduates, career changers, self-taught learners, and aspiring cybersecurity professionals.

Previous professional penetration testing experience is not required; foundational knowledge, practical labs, or willingness to learn are welcome.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with authorized security assessments of applications, networks, and systems.
  • Identify and document potential vulnerabilities and support validation and risk assessment.
  • Conduct basic security testing in approved environments under supervision.
  • Review web application security issues and network configurations.
  • Prepare technical notes and draft assessment reports; help verify vulnerability remediation.
  • Research emerging attack techniques and defensive measures.
  • Follow approved testing procedures and rules of engagement.
  • Collaborate with senior penetration testers and security engineers to improve security practices.

Candidate requirements

  • Genuine interest in ethical hacking, penetration testing, and cybersecurity.
  • Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and common security concepts.
  • Familiarity with Windows or Linux environments.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, written communication, and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn security testing methods and tools.
  • Ability to work responsibly within authorization and scope requirements; commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct.

Advantageous qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in cybersecurity, computer science, IT, or a related field is advantageous, not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and common web application vulnerabilities is advantageous, not mandatory.
  • Basic experience with Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite Community Edition, or Kali Linux is advantageous, not mandatory.
  • Introductory Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting is advantageous, not mandatory.
  • TryHackMe, Hack The Box, CTF, or personal security lab participation is advantageous, not mandatory.
  • Foundational certifications or training, such as CompTIA Security+ or an entry-level penetration testing course, are advantageous, not mandatory.
  • Previous professional penetration testing experience is not required; coursework, independent study, and practical labs are welcome.

Work arrangement

  • Fully remote, subject to UAE employment and location requirements.
  • Dubai and UAE-based applicants are welcome, subject to employment eligibility.

Compensation

  • Proposed salary is AED 10,000–14,000 per month, depending on skills and qualifications.
