Role overview

Supports the commercial and infrastructure foundation of the company's MEAI airfreight product.

Works with and reports to more senior pricing, procurement, and network leads.

Commercial pricing and procurement

  • Prepare airfreight pricing for MEAI trade lanes using the company's markup-on-cost methodology under guidance.
  • Gather carrier quotes, track spot and contract rates, and help prepare BSA proposals for senior review.
  • Maintain rate cards and draft tender responses, including trucking, handling, and dangerous-goods surcharges in cost-to-serve calculations.
  • Track capacity, yield, and rate movements; provide rate inputs for sales and key-account RFQs and tenders.
  • Maintain procurement data, carrier scorecards, and regular reporting.

Infrastructure and network support

  • Maintain network maps of gateways, trucking corridors, handling partners, and transshipment routings.
  • Help assess customs bottlenecks, cool-chain capability, dangerous-goods facilities, and out-of-gauge handling; escalate gaps.
  • Research and initially vet local agents, trucking companies, and handling partners in secondary and tertiary markets.
  • Organize charter and ad hoc capacity options for senior review when scheduled capacity is insufficient.
  • Coordinate with operations on infrastructure and partner effects on transit times and service levels; maintain the infrastructure scorecard.

Cross-functional support

  • Build working knowledge of MEAI airfreight capacity cycles, perishables seasonality, and regulatory and customs environments.
  • Work with the Regional Manager and wider EMEIA air product team, contributing regional data and insights.
  • Support process and tool standardization as directed.

Experience and skills

  • 2–4 years in international air freight, freight forwarding, or logistics; pricing, procurement, or carrier-coordination exposure is ideal.
  • MEAI market exposure is a plus; basic familiarity with BSAs is expected.
  • Working awareness of dangerous-goods classifications, including UN3480/3481, cool-chain handling, and out-of-gauge cargo is expected.
  • Comfort with cost and rate data, including multi-currency calculations, and strong Excel and data-handling skills are expected.
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive communication, and willingness to travel periodically within the Middle East, Africa, and India.

Education

  • A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred.

Performance measures

Measures include pricing and tender accuracy and turnaround, quality and currency of procurement and network data, procurement savings and rate-card maintenance, and timely escalation of infrastructure gaps and service issues.
