R&D Manager AI for Chip Design and Compute Architectures

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage AI skills and resources across technology pillars and guide teams toward project milestones.
• Turn objectives into R&D packages, including AI-assisted codesign, digital twins, and reinforcement learning.
• Build, mentor, and manage cross-functional AI scientist, engineer, and developer teams.
• Establish data acquisition, model training, and deployment pipelines.
• Work with stakeholders to embed AI in semiconductor platforms and system architectures.
• Foster cross-disciplinary innovation; manage budgets, timelines, and reporting.
• Represent the organization through publications, conferences, and academic engagement.

Who you are

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics, Microelectronics, or a related STEM field.
• 5+ years in applied AI research or development, with leadership in areas such as reinforcement learning, Bayesian optimization, surrogate modeling, or agentic AI.
• Experience working in and/or leading multidisciplinary teams; hands-on contribution to prototypes and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
• Strong scientific programming skills, code documentation, and repository management.
• Proven leadership and project management capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills; fluency in English required.
• SoC architecture, ASIC design, or energy technology R&D experience is a plus.
