Quantity Surveyor in the Maintenance Department, focused on cost estimation, quantity take-off, BOQ preparation, and cost control for firefighting and fire alarm maintenance works.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare detailed BOQs, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and pricing schedules for maintenance works.
- Review work orders, scope of work, drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure accurate quantity measurements.
- Prepare cost estimates and monitor project budgets for cost efficiency.
- Maintain records of quantities, material rates, labour costs, and other project expenses.
- Identify additional works, prepare variation orders, and assist with claims and extension-of-time documentation.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Project, Procurement, and Finance teams on material requirements and cost matters.
- Prepare cost reports and maintain accurate documentation for ongoing and completed maintenance works.
- Ensure estimates and BOQs comply with project specifications and applicable technical requirements.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of Quantity Surveying experience; firefighting, fire alarm, or fire protection experience is preferred.
- Experience in BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, cost estimation, and cost control.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards and UAE Civil Defence requirements is an advantage.
- Good analytical, communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
