Planning Engineer (Fire Rated Doors & Hardwares)

Role overview

Planning and coordination

• Review project orders, specifications and delivery requirements; develop project plans, production schedules and milestones.
• Align engineering, procurement, manufacturing, inspection and dispatch activities; monitor progress and recommend recovery plans for delays.
• Coordinate materials with procurement and stores, review bills of materials and hardware schedules, and flag shortages or long lead-time items.
• Work with production teams on capacity, sequencing and resource requirements, and help resolve planning constraints.

Documentation and reporting

• Review approved drawings, schedules and project documents; circulate current drawings, specifications and revisions.
• Maintain records of plans, changes, production status and delivery dates, and ensure products align with approved project requirements.
• Track orders from release to production completion and dispatch; report schedule performance, actions and delivery risks.
• Analyse planning data, identify bottlenecks and recurring delays, escalate issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain planning data in ERP systems and contribute to process, reporting and coordination improvements.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Planning, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Relevant planning, production coordination or project scheduling experience; manufacturing, construction products or building materials experience is preferred.
• Experience with fire-rated doors, door hardware, joinery or related products is an advantage.
• Able to interpret technical drawings, specifications, bills of materials and project schedules; knowledgeable in production planning, material coordination and delivery tracking.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with ERP or production-planning systems.
• Strong organisation, analytical and time-management skills, attention to detail, communication and coordination; able to manage deadlines and follow through.
