Building Management System (BMS) Draughtman

Role overview

Drawing and design responsibilities

• Prepare BMS shop drawings, schematic and single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts using AutoCAD and Revit/BIM tools.
• Develop HVAC control drawings for AHU, FCU, chiller, ventilation, exhaust, and pressurization systems.
• Prepare control panel general arrangement drawings, control schematics, cable routing layouts, and sensor/device location drawings.
• Prepare network topology diagrams, control architecture layouts, and BMS communication schematics.
• Work with BIM/Revit teams on coordinated MEP and BMS modeling requirements.

Coordination and project documentation

• Coordinate with BMS, HVAC, and electrical engineers and site execution teams to meet drawing and project requirements.
• Review mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings to support coordination and clash-free BMS installations.
• Revise drawings based on consultant comments, client requirements, and site conditions; submit as-built drawings at project completion.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision logs, document control records, and submission trackers.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and material coordination; coordinate drawing revisions and material approvals with procurement, planning, and project teams.
• Verify site installation details and update drawings to reflect execution conditions.
• Support consultant submissions, technical documentation, drawing approvals, testing and commissioning documentation, and O&M drawing packages.
• Follow project schedules and maintain drafting quality, accuracy, and document consistency.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
• 3–5 years of BMS drafting and coordination experience within MEP/BMS projects.
• AutoCAD proficiency is mandatory; Revit/BIM experience is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of HVAC systems, BMS controls, and MEP coordination.
• Familiarity with international standards and consultant submission procedures; ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple submissions.
• Knowledge of Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider, Johnson Controls, or equivalent BMS systems is preferred.
