Candescent develops digital banking, account opening, and branch solutions for financial institutions.
The product mission is to deliver a mobile-first, intuitive, secure, and scalable consumer banking experience.
Core Quality Responsibilities
- Develop testing plans, frameworks, test cases, and test scripts.
- Execute unit, automated, and manual tests and participate in code reviews.
- Document and track defects with clear reporting on severity and resolution status.
- Participate in agile planning events and provide quality-focused insights.
- Work with Product Owners, Engineers, and Designers to define quality objectives, identify risks, and promote early testing.
- Define acceptance criteria and comprehensive test strategies covering scope, environments, metrics, and reporting.
Testing and Delivery
- Collaborate with Engineers to improve application testability, logging, monitoring, and observability.
- Create and execute smoke, integration, regression, and UAT test cases.
- Conduct manual and automated tests to validate functionality and identify edge cases and error handling issues.
- Log, prioritize, and track bugs while working with Engineers on debugging and resolution.
- Develop and maintain automated tests as part of CI/CD pipelines with DevOps support.
- Apply engineering tools and emerging technologies to enhance quality and delivery.
- Contribute to process improvement and team testing workflows.
- Monitor defect and change failure rates to identify improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- 6 or more years of experience in QA using manual and automated testing for APIs and systems.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright.
- Expertise in smoke, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
- Experience with Java, JavaScript, Postman, Newman, Cucumber, JMeter, or Selenium for test automation.
- Experience building test strategies for UI, APIs, and service layers in highly transactional systems.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Proficiency in BDD, ATDD, TDD, and related practices.
- Strong understanding of test frameworks, test planning, and execution for manual and automated testing.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including MS SQL Server and Oracle.
- Familiarity with GCP, Azure, and AWS cloud platforms.
- Experience using Git and SVN source-control tools.
- Strong collaboration, communication, analytical, leadership, and technical review skills.
