QA Automation Engineer with Playwright

Role summary

Responsibilities

• Define scalable quality strategies and automation approaches to improve release reliability and reduce defect leakage.
• Build reusable Playwright and Java automation frameworks for regression and validation of critical business workflows.
• Create test plans and cases for functional, regression, and integration testing, prioritizing risk areas.
• Translate user stories and acceptance criteria into test scenarios with product owners and business analysts.
• Review designs and code changes with developers, identify risks early, and promote shift-left quality and testability.
• Analyze test results and production issues to identify trends, root causes, and recurring defects; recommend targeted improvements.
• Oversee automated and manual test execution, test environments, defect reporting, and stakeholder feedback.
• Improve test tools, processes, and metrics; guide peers on cross-browser testing, trace analysis, and parallel runs.
• Set quality gates, entry and exit criteria, and readiness assessments with release management and operations.
• Document test reports, defect summaries, and risk assessments; align scope and priorities with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on expertise in Java scripting and Playwright automation tools.
• 9–13 years of quality engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer certification or an equivalent automation certification focused on Java-based frameworks and modern web testing tools.
• Adaptability to a hybrid work model and day-shift schedule; the posting states no travel is required.

Relevant domain experience

• Property and casualty insurance process experience is applicable where relevant to the product.
• Life and annuities insurance knowledge is applicable where relevant to the application context.
