Role purpose and details

Responsibilities

• Review approved requisition orders for completeness; obtain supplier quotations, compare commercial offers, and prepare recommendations.
• Prepare and issue LPOs, verifying pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, Incoterms, commercial conditions, approvals, and supporting documents.
• Maintain LPO registers, procurement tracking records, files, supplier correspondence, quotations, approvals, and delivery documents.
• Source materials, equipment, spare parts, and services; negotiate prices, lead times, delivery schedules, and payment terms; maintain supplier relationships.
• Assist with supplier registration and qualification and identify alternatives for critical or high-risk items.
• Monitor active orders through receipt, follow up with suppliers, expedite urgent requirements, escalate delays and supply risks, and report status to user departments.
• Coordinate suppliers, logistics providers, stores, and project teams; arrange transport and deliveries when required.
• Ensure deliveries reach the correct project site, warehouse, or workshop and resolve shortages, damaged goods, and supplier non-conformance.
• Comply with procurement policies and authority requirements and support procurement audits and document reviews.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of purchasing experience, including issuing and managing high-volume LPOs.
• The posting specifies 4 years of experience as a purchaser of spare parts in heavy equipment.
• Experience in construction, mining, heavy equipment, industrial, or engineering sectors is preferred.
• Familiarity with procurement procedures, supplier management, and inventory operations.

Competencies

• LPO and purchase order management, procurement administration, supplier negotiation, and vendor relationship management.
• Expediting and follow-up, commercial evaluation, ERP/MEX system knowledge, inventory awareness, and Microsoft Excel and reporting.
• Attention to detail, time management, communication, and coordination skills.

Workplace

• Work location is in person at Sajaa; the posting requires ability to commute to or relocate to Sharjah.
