HSE Officer/Engineer/Reps

Role overview

HSE implementation and monitoring

• Implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures, plans, and safe practices across construction activities.
• Conduct site inspections, safety observations, risk assessments, and hazard identification.
• Check compliance with UAE regulations, client requirements, international standards, method statements, and permit-to-work procedures.
• Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, briefings, and safety-awareness sessions.
• Identify unsafe acts and conditions, recommend corrective actions, and follow up their closure.

Risk, incidents, and environment

• Monitor high-risk work such as work at height, lifting, excavation, scaffolding, confined-space entry, and hot work.
• Support incident and near-miss reporting, investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Monitor waste, dust, noise, spill prevention, and pollution prevention.
• Check PPE use, emergency-equipment availability, and emergency-response procedures.
• Maintain HSE records, inspections, risk assessments, incident reports, and training documentation.

Coordination and improvement

• Coordinate HSE matters with project management, construction teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
• Participate in HSE meetings, audits, emergency drills, and performance reviews.
• Promote employee participation, hazard reporting, continuous improvement, and a proactive safety culture.
• Perform other HSE-related duties required by project needs and management.

Qualifications and experience

• Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• IOSH/NEBOSH certification is required; relevant equivalent certifications may be accepted as required by the position.
• Previous HSE experience in construction, drilling, or mining.
• Knowledge of construction hazards, risk assessments, incident investigation, and environmental management.
• Familiarity with UAE HSE regulations, client standards, and applicable international requirements.
• Communication, coordination, reporting, problem-solving, teamwork, and accurate documentation skills.
