The Purchase Engineer supports the organization's procurement function and helps implement purchasing strategy.
Procurement and sourcing
- Follow purchasing procedures and policies and ensure compliance with UAE laws.
- Manage vendor solicitation, RFP evaluation, supplier selection, and contract awards while ensuring fair competition.
- Write and analyze RFPs and prepare legal, ethical, value-focused recommendations.
- Negotiate contracts, discounts, and pricing agreements; process purchase orders and related instruments.
- Research and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors based on price, quality, service, availability, reliability, capability, and reputation.
Supplier and procurement operations
- Manage suppliers and subcontractors against cost, delivery, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Coordinate continuous quality improvement with vendors.
- Maintain and review records of purchased items, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventory.
- Maintain procurement documents in a systematic, retrievable manner.
- Support procurement strategy implementation aligned with the business plan and respond to market changes.
Reporting and technical knowledge
- Assist the manager with procurement reports and presentations, including annual operational reports, operating budgets, and board committee materials.
- Write and review product specifications and maintain working technical knowledge of purchased goods and services.
- Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- At least two years of purchasing experience in the UAE.
- Excellent communication and accounting skills.
- UAE driving licence.
Workplace and commute
- Work location is in person.
- The posting requires reliable commuting to Abu Dhabi or plans to relocate there before starting.
