Role purpose
Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor with bills of quantities for the Estimates department’s tender estimates.
Monitor project work and variations to support profitability through accurate costing.
Tender and subcontractor costing
- Examine tenders and determine material quantities for bills of quantities and competitive estimates.
- Identify subcontract work, request quotations, vet submissions, and prepare comparison reports to support subcontractor selection.
Valuations, variations, and accounts
- Prepare monthly job valuation reports to track completion percentages and support schedule monitoring and corrective action.
- Prepare detailed variation specifications and obtain additional-cost estimates for client approval.
- Check subcontractor account quantities, remeasure completed work, and support preparation of final accounts.
- Prepare final accounts after completion and obtain client payment certificates to support collection of outstanding amounts.
Skills and experience
- 3–5 years of experience in fit-out or construction projects.
- Higher Diploma in Quantity Surveying.
