Project Engineer ( Mechanical / Electrical) (Building Construction)

Overview

Position Overview

Project Coordination

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Construction Managers, MEP Managers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other disciplines.
• Review and coordinate mechanical drawings, shop drawings, material approvals, and technical submissions.
• Identify and resolve technical issues impacting project execution.
• Ensure smooth coordination between mechanical, electrical, civil, architectural, and finishing teams.

Planning & Progress Monitoring

• Prepare and monitor short-term schedules, look-ahead programmes, and work plans.
• Track progress against project milestones and highlight risks or delays.
• Coordinate availability of materials, equipment, manpower, and approvals required for execution.
• Support recovery plans to maintain project timelines.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure mechanical installations comply with project specifications, approved method statements, and quality standards.
• Coordinate inspections with QA/QC teams and consultants.
• Support testing, commissioning, authority inspections, and final handover activities.
• Ensure proper documentation, inspection records, and project close-out requirements.

Commercial & Technical Support

• Support variation identification and provide technical inputs for claims when required.
• Review subcontractor works and assist in verification of progress quantities.
• Coordinate with procurement teams for timely delivery of mechanical materials and equipment.

HSE Compliance

• Ensure mechanical activities are performed in accordance with company HSE policies.
• Promote safe working practices across site teams and subcontractors.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in

Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Experience

• Minimum
• 8–12+ years of experience
• in mechanical construction works.
• Strong experience working with
• reputed Main Contractors
• .
• Proven experience in building projects including:
• High-rise residential/commercial towers
• Villa communities
• Residential developments
• Mixed-use developments
• UAE/GCC construction experience preferred.
• Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and site execution teams.

Technical Competencies

• Strong knowledge of:
• HVAC systems
• Plumbing & drainage
• Fire fighting systems
• Mechanical installation methodologies
• Testing & commissioning processes
• UAE authority requirements
