Job Summary
Our client, a leading main contractor in the UAE, is seeking an experienced and highly competent
Senior Structural Engineer
to join their team.
The ideal candidate must possess strong expertise in all aspects of structural engineering related to building construction projects and have extensive hands-on experience working with reputable main contractors in the UAE.
Candidates with exposure to large-scale, complex building developments will be highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all structural engineering activities for multiple building construction projects from design review through execution and completion.
- Review structural drawings, calculations, specifications, and ensure compliance with project requirements, UAE codes, and international standards.
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, MEP teams, project managers, and site execution teams to resolve structural issues efficiently.
- Oversee site structural works including foundations, concrete structures, steel structures, post-tensioning systems, and temporary works.
- Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to approved construction methodologies.
- Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize structural design and construction efficiency.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and provide timely engineering solutions.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist structural consultants where required.
- Prepare technical reports, method statements, RFIs, NCR responses, and progress updates.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the engineering team.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum
- 20+ years of total experience

- Strong experience on
- large, complex, high-rise, mixed-use, commercial, residential, hospitality, or landmark developments
- is highly desirable.
- Excellent understanding of UAE authority regulations, construction standards, and approval processes.
- Proficiency in structural analysis/design software and engineering tools.
- Strong site execution knowledge with practical problem-solving capability.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Profile
- Previously worked on iconic or mega building projects in the UAE.
- Chartered Engineer / Professional membership preferred.
- Immediately available or short notice candidates preferred.
