Project Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering, design, construction, and project delivery activities.
• Support the Project Manager with planning, execution, monitoring, and progress reporting.
• Review engineering deliverables, drawings, specifications, and technical submissions.
• Monitor schedules, milestones, and deliverables for timely completion.
• Coordinate interfaces among engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Assist with project risks, issues, and change requests.
• Review contractor submissions, method statements, and technical documents.
• Attend client, stakeholder, and progress meetings and prepare technical reports.
• Support quality assurance and quality control across project disciplines.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and regulations.
• Coordinate authority approvals, permits, and stakeholder requirements where applicable.
• Monitor construction and provide technical support; track action items and decisions; support closeout, handover, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8–12 years of relevant project engineering and project delivery experience.
• Experience on transportation, roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and engineering processes.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
• Knowledge of contract administration, project controls, and risk management.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.
• Engineering consultancy experience and GCC/UAE project experience are preferred; PMP certification is advantageous.
