Project Engineer - Civil (Arabic Speaking)

Role overview

Technical review and documentation

• Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for compliance with design intent, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Maintain technical records, drawing registers, and submittal logs for traceability and audit readiness.
• Coordinate RFIs between design consultants and site teams to support timely resolution.

Site monitoring and quality

• Conduct regular site inspections to verify construction against approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Support QA/QC by identifying non-conformities early and following up on contractor corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor progress against the master schedule and flag deviations to the Head of Projects.

Contracts, coordination, and compliance

• Assist with reviewing interim payment certificates, variation orders, and technical claims before escalation.
• Support contractual correspondence, notices, and instructions under the applicable FIDIC contract; help maintain the project risk register.
• Coordinate technical issues with consultants, contractors, and subcontractors; prepare progress reports, inspection reports, and site diaries.
• Support client and authority meetings, promote site safety with HSE, and assist with permits, inspections, and NOC-related requirements in Dubai.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of experience in real estate development or engineering consultancy, including at least five years in the UAE.
• Consultant-side or developer-side experience is essential; candidates with only main-contractor experience do not qualify.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and AutoCAD; working knowledge of FIDIC Conditions of Contract and practical exposure to submittals, RFIs, and site-level contract administration.
• Familiarity with UAE construction codes and authority approval processes, including Dubai Municipality, DDA, Civil Defence, and DEWA.
• Detail-oriented, with strong site presence and ability to coordinate across design, contractor, and client teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• PMP certification is an added value.
• Arabic speaker with strong written and verbal English communication skills; valid UAE driving license.
