Project Engineer

Role overview

Planning and coordination

• Review drawings, BOQs, specifications, and contract documents for MEP and fit-out scope.
• Prepare and maintain schedules, method statements, and material submittals.
• Coordinate MEP, civil, and fit-out trades to prevent clashes and maintain workflow.
• Lead site coordination and progress meetings with consultants, clients, and subcontractors.

Execution and site supervision

• Supervise HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire-fighting, and low-current system work on site.
• Oversee fit-out work including partitions, ceilings, joinery, flooring, painting, and finishes.
• Ensure work follows approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and authority requirements.
• Monitor progress against the programme and take corrective action on delays.

Quality, safety, and authorities

• Enforce QA/QC procedures, conduct inspections, and raise and close inspection requests.
• Ensure site compliance with HSE regulations and company safety policies.
• Coordinate approvals and inspections with Civil Defence, DEWA/ADDC, and municipality authorities.

Commercial, documentation, and closeout

• Track material and manpower requirements and raise procurement or material requisitions.
• Review subcontractor work and support variations, progress claims, and payment certification.
• Maintain daily reports, RFIs, submittals, drawings, and as-built documentation.
• Support handover, testing and commissioning, snagging, and project closeout.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
• 4–8 years of experience in MEP and fit-out projects; contracting background preferred.
• UAE/GCC project experience is an advantage; knowledge of local authority requirements is specified.
• Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and project management practices.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and fit-out execution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project or Primavera, and MS Office.
• Coordination, leadership, communication, problem-solving, time management, and attention to detail.
