The Operations Manager links management and departments to help ensure timely work completion, appropriate use of systems, and early resolution of delays.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor daily staff task reports and follow up on missing reports, stalled tasks, and delays on the same day.
- Hold regular review meetings with department heads and engineers to track progress, deadlines, and blockers.
- Own internal company systems, gather user feedback, and coordinate fixes with partners.
- Track department KPIs, including task completion, tender follow-ups, response times, and project milestones; prepare monthly management reports.
- Support tendering by tracking inquiries, submissions, and client follow-ups through to timely completion.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, HR, and accounts to remove bottlenecks and improve processes.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures for key workflows.
- Handle performance issues fairly, record repeated delays, and escalate documented concerns to management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in operations, project coordination, or project controls; UAE construction or MEP experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Odoo or a similar ERP system.
- Experience rolling out systems or processes and securing team adoption.
- Strong organisational and follow-up skills, including managing multiple departments.
- Firm but respectful communication and comfort holding people accountable, including senior engineers.
- Advanced Excel skills, including building reports and dashboards.
- Excellent English communication skills.
