About the Role
Procurement specialist will operate at the intersection of the Technology, Renewable Energy, and Utilities industries.
The procurement specialist's primary job function is to source, negotiate, and manage third-party vendors to support both digital infrastructure and physical energy hardware.
Core Job Functions
- **Software & IT Procurement:**
- Sourcing cloud hosting credits, data center space, cyber-security software, and API integrations.
- **Hardware & IoT Sourcing:**
- Buying smart meters, IoT edge devices, sensors, and grid telemetry hardware.
- **Vendor Contract Negotiation:**
- Drafting Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for maximum cloud uptime.
- **Strategic Category Management:**
- Analyzing corporate spending to reduce costs across SaaS subscriptions and technical hardware.
- **Sustainability Compliance:**
- Ensuring all upstream supply chain vendors meet strict environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.
- **Risk & Supply Management:**
- Tracking global semiconductor and hardware shortages to prevent project deployment delays.
Qualifications
- **Experience:**
- 5–9 years in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
- **Industry Background:**
- Prior experience in Tech (SaaS/Cloud), Renewable Energy, or Smart Grid utilities.
- **Contract Expertise:**
- Proven track record of negotiating software enterprise agreements and hardware manufacturing contracts.
- **Data Skills:**
- Proficient in ERP software (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI).
- **Education:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
