About This Role
Job Purpose
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading the procurement strategy, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing the acquisition of goods and services.
This role focuses on cost-efficiency, quality assurance, and ensuring ethical sourcing across all business units in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to achieve operational excellence and professional growth.
- Vendor Strategy:
- Identify and manage a robust portfolio of suppliers, wholesalers, and brand distributors to support our e-commerce platform.
- Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners to secure priority stock allocation and favorable terms.
- Inventory Availability:
- Monitor real-time stock levels and coordinate frequent replenishments to ensure high availability for online customers.
- SLA s Performance:
- Monitor vendor delivery performance and adherence to timelines at our warehouse, ensuring seamless stock intake.
- Market Pricing:
- Regularly analyze market rates to ensure the company maintains a competitive edge and strong margins.
- Assortment Growth:
- Continuously scout for new products and trends within the market to expand the e-commerce catalog.
- Contract Negotiation:
- Lead negotiations for credit terms, volume discounts, and service level agreements.
Experience
5+ years of experience in procurement, specifically within an e-commerce, FMCG, or high-turnover retail environment.
FMCG Expertise: Strong background in FMCG procurement, including handling fast-moving products, supplier coordination, stock replenishment, and pricing strategies.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead a team, manage department KPIs, and drive strategic initiatives.
Market Expertise: Deep knowledge of the supply chain and an existing network of distributors and FMCG suppliers.
Computer Literate: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel is a must), Odoo ERP, and e-commerce backend management tools.
