Role overview
Join WestJet’s Pricing & Revenue Management Team as a Pricing Analyst.
The team manages day-to-day and long-term revenue optimization by setting prices in response to market strategy, customer demand, and competition.
The analyst owns pricing strategy for part of WestJet’s route network, worth over CAD 100 million annually.
Key deliverables
- Analyze market conditions such as capacity, competition, schedules, and inventory using large datasets.
- Develop, implement, and track strategies to achieve performance targets and maximize unit revenue.
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Analytics, Alliances, Rewards, and Vacations.
- Implement fare products across distribution channels and use WestJet tools and systems.
- Create leadership reports and presentations on performance and future strategies.
- Monitor competitor pricing and KPI performance, communicate findings, and adjust strategies to meet goals.
Experience and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; Economics, Math, Statistics, Business, Engineering, Finance, or Computer Science is preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Previous analyst experience or experience in a role involving business decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to independently manipulate large datasets and create actionable analyses or reports.
- Willingness to learn and a strong competitive spirit.
Assets
- Pricing and revenue management theory is an asset.
- Experience with airline pricing and revenue management tools such as ATPCO, Sabre, SNTE, or PROS is an asset but not required.
- Experience with Tableau, Cognos, Power BI, or other analysis tools is an asset.
