Role Overview
The Planning Engineer will support project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities across ongoing construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and manage project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar software.
- Prepare baseline schedules, manpower histograms, progress curves, weekly reports, and monthly progress reports.
- Monitor progress, identify delays and risks, analyze critical paths, and propose recovery plans.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, stakeholders, and subcontractors on schedule updates and alignment.
- Support project cash flow and resource planning.
- Ensure project planning complies with contract requirements.
Common Skills
- Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel, Critical Path Method, baseline and schedule updates, Earned Value Management, delay analysis, progress measurement, and construction project management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Planning Engineer in construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, and scheduling techniques.
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
