Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in payroll accounting.
- Strong knowledge of payroll accounting practices, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
- Working knowledge of applicable labor laws and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll systems and ERP platforms, including Oracle.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Key responsibilities
- Administer end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring transactions are accurate, timely, and complete.
- Prepare, review, and post payroll journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with accounting standards.
- Perform monthly payroll reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and regulatory requirements.
- Calculate and process employee benefits, including allowances, leave encashments, and end-of-service settlements.
- Prepare and submit reports within prescribed deadlines.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and audit-ready documentation.
- Support internal and external audits with required payroll documentation and explanations.
- Collaborate with HC to ensure employee data accuracy and alignment with compensation structures.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and system efficiencies.
