Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• **Surface Preparation:**
• Prepare surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, or using other methods to remove old paint, dirt, and grease.
• Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers using a knife, blade, or trowel.
• Mask and tape off areas not to be painted, such as trim, windows, and doors.
• **Painting and Finishing:**
• Select and mix paint colors to match desired shades; use primers or sealers as necessary to achieve a uniform finish.
• Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
• Apply second coats or touch-ups as needed to achieve a consistent, high-quality finish.
• **Equipment and Material Management:**
• Set up and maintain tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, ladders, and spray equipment.
• Clean tools and equipment after use and store them properly to ensure their longevity.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies and materials, and report any shortages to the supervisor.
• **Safety and Compliance:**
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE), such as masks, gloves, and safety goggles, as required.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, local building codes, and environmental regulations.
• **Quality Assurance:**
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and client expectations.
• Make necessary corrections or touch-ups to achieve a flawless finish.
• Provide feedback on project progress and any issues encountered to the supervisor.
• **Customer Service:**
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their painting needs and preferences.
• Provide advice on color selection, finishes, and techniques to achieve the desired outcome.
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and coworkers.
