Position Details

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating theatre, equipment, instruments, and supplies before procedures.
• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists and perform scrub or circulating nurse duties.
• Maintain surgical equipment readiness and infection prevention standards.
• Perform and document surgical safety checks and preoperative patient preparation.
• Provide postoperative care, monitor recovery from anesthesia, and report abnormal findings.
• Assess vital signs, pain, consciousness, and overall condition during recovery.
• Support management of postoperative complications and emergencies within scope of practice.
• Ensure recovery and discharge criteria are met and provide patient and family education.
• Maintain nursing, medication, surgical, and recovery documentation.
• Coordinate handovers and maintain readiness of operating theatre and recovery areas.
• Monitor supplies and equipment and report shortages or maintenance needs.
• Support quality improvement, patient safety, infection control, audits, and clinical protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Valid DOH license or DOH eligibility.
• Minimum five years of nursing experience.
• Previous UAE healthcare experience is mandatory.
• Day surgery, hospital, operating theatre, PACU, or recovery unit experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia recovery, infection control, and patient safety.
• Knowledge of scrub and circulating nurse responsibilities.
• Ability to respond to postoperative complications and emergencies.
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
• Ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Work Location

• Work is performed in person at the Abu Dhabi day surgery center.

Compensation

• Pay is AED 6,000 to AED 9,000 per month.
