Laser Technician

Role overview

Clinical duties

• Perform approved laser treatments, including hair removal, and other aesthetic procedures within the individual’s scope of practice.
• Assess skin and conduct patch tests and pre-treatment checks, including medical history, allergies, medications, contraindications, and prior treatments.
• Provide approved procedures for concerns such as pigmentation, vascular lesions, skin rejuvenation, acne, wrinkles, and chemical peels.
• Plan treatments and follow-ups; explain procedures, outcomes, risks, side effects, contraindications, and aftercare to patients.
• Protect patient safety, comfort, privacy, and dignity; maintain records, treatment notes, consent forms, photographs, and follow-up information.
• Assist with physician-directed dermatology procedures and follow infection-control, hygiene, sterilization, safety, and clinical-governance requirements.
• Operate equipment according to approved protocols and manufacturer instructions; keep rooms, equipment, and supplies clean, safe, and organized.

Qualifications and experience

• A relevant professional qualification in Laser Therapy, Aesthetic Therapy, Nursing, or a related field is required.
• A valid DHA license relevant to the position is required where applicable.
• Hands-on experience in laser hair removal and aesthetic procedures is required; at least 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of skin types, contraindications, laser safety, and treatment protocols is required.
• Strong patient consultation and client-handling skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Applicants should be able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary healthcare team, and be willing to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred experience

• Experience with advanced laser and aesthetic devices is an advantage.
• Experience in a Dubai healthcare facility and familiarity with DHA requirements are preferred.
