Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and manage end-to-end operations of MAKANI , with a strong focus on online marketplace management, platform operations, warehousing, inventory, and procurement . This role is critical in ensuring operational excellence, vendor performance, and seamless marketplace execution.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing a digital marketplace environment , scaling operations, and aligning logistics, inventory, and procurement processes with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the overall operations of the MAKANI & online marketplace , ensuring smooth day-to-day platform performance
• Lead online merchant onboarding , compliance checks, and operational readiness
• Monitor marketplace KPIs, vendor performance, order fulfillment, and customer experience
• Oversee warehousing operations , inventory planning, stock control, and demand forecasting
• Manage procurement activities , supplier relationships, and cost optimization
• Coordinate with technology, logistics, finance, and commercial teams for seamless operations
• Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability
• Ensure adherence to company policies, operational standards, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field
• Proven 3 to 6 yrs of experience managing an online marketplace or e-commerce platform
• Strong background in warehouse management, inventory control, and procurement operations
• Experience with platform operations, monitoring, and vendor management
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and multiple operational stakeholders
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Desirable / Advantage

• Experience in logistics, supply chain, warehousing, freight forwarding, or transport services .
• Knowledge of customs clearance processes, trade documentation, or regulatory requirements related to logistics and cargo.
• Experience working with government, semi-government, or regulated platforms is an added advantage.
