Job Purpose
The Operation Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, profitability, business development, operational excellence, and strategic growth of the valve service workshop.
The role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality repair, maintenance, testing, refurbishment, and field service operations while driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
1. Strategic Leadership
· Develop and execute the workshop's annual business plan and growth strategy.
· Establish short and long-term objectives aligned with company goals.
· Drive business expansion and market penetration within Oil & Gas, Power, Water, and Industrial sectors.
· Identify new opportunities for maintenance contracts, shutdown projects, and valve service agreements.
2. Business Development & Sales
· Build strong relationships with ADNOC, EPC contractors, end users, and consultants.
· Lead commercial discussions and negotiate major service contracts.
· Develop partnerships with valve manufacturers and OEMs.
· Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
· Achieve annual revenue and profitability targets.
3. Operations Management
· Oversee all workshop and field service activities.
· Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, equipment, and resources.
· Monitor job execution from quotation through completion and invoicing.
· Improve workshop productivity and operational efficiency.
· Ensure timely completion of projects and customer orders.
4. Financial Management
· Manage workshop budgets, costs, and profitability.
· Review and approve major quotations, purchases, and capital expenditures.
· Monitor monthly financial performance and implement corrective action when required.
· Drive continuous improvement in margins and cost control.
5. Quality, Safety & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and customer requirements.
· Maintain quality management systems and industry certifications.
· Ensure compliance with API, ASME, ISO, ADNOC, and other relevant standards.
· Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
6. Team Leadership
· Lead and develop workshop managers, engineers, supervisors, and support staff.
· Establish performance objectives and KPIs.
· Identify training and development requirements.
· Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
7. Customer Relations
· Maintain relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
· Participate in high-level customer meetings and presentations.
· Resolve critical customer issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
· Represent the company at industry events and business meetings.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
· MBA is an advantage.
· Minimum 15 years of experience in valve maintenance, repair, testing, and service operations.
· Minimum 5-10 years in a senior management position.
· Strong knowledge of industrial valves, actuators, safety valves, and control valves.
